Senior Pet Care
How your pet's needs change.
As pets age, they are more prone to joint stiffness, muscle injury, osteoarthritis, and muscle atrophy. These conditions can result in pain, decreased exercise tolerance, irritability,y and withdrawal from the family. We love to help make our senior pets more comfortable and happier through a combination of aquatic therapy, therapeutic exercise, massage, stretching, and weight management. We offer several senior care programs to meet all your needs and we will work with your veterinarian to determine the most beneficial wellness approach for your senior friend to ensure that they have a long, but most importantly, happy and comfortable life.
Our initial senior care consultations include a comprehensive assessment of your pet's needs, including evaluation of environmental challenges, weight loss recommendations, and supplement and assistive device suggestions. In addition, an objective gait and orthopedic evaluation will be performed in order to understand your pet's specific areas of focus. During this 40-minute consultation, your pet will have the opportunity to trial the underwater treadmill, to determine if this modality can be considered as part of their long-term care program. Following the initial assessment, our trained experts will formulate a customized care program for your pets, including a home exercise program, to improve comfort and mobility
